The president, Maureen Timmins, welcomed members and visitors.
Thanks were given to Hilary for the floral display, for Sue for the raffle prize and to the Tea Ladies. Maureen gave the sad news of the recent death of member Ann Dasby.
Maureen read the letter from Worcester giving the news of the imminent sale of Worcester House due to the continued rising of costs of maintaining the building. New premises were being searched for although, it will possibly be some time before any further action can be made.
Maureen spoke of the visit to the Albert Hall for the AGM by herself, Carolynn and Sylvia, and the marvellous experience. She brought forward the various walks being undertaken by committee members and subsequent evening meals to find suitable ones for members to take, possible in August.
The speaker, Jackie Littlejohn, was introduced. Jackie enthralled us all with her beautiful floral arrangements, using five different containers and a multitude of greenery and flowers: She introduced audience participation by taking us through the making of buttonholes with leaves, ribbon and roses.
Maureen thanked her and announced the next meeting on July 21 when Rae Fowler will give a talk, with slides of a local village.
