I WOULD just like to comment on M Poole's letter.
Not all elderly people use trolleys. I do use a trolley as I am not able to carry anything too heavy for a long time. So, yes I do understand the difficulties of getting on and off the bus and the moans from other people not using them yet.
As for the state of the bus remember the mess is created by the passengers. Try travelling on a 44 after the students have used it - a pig sty is cleaner in some cases and I should know as I grew up by a farm.
Also could I challenge the person who devised the timetable to use the bus services for a period of one month at various times of the day. That way the service might be improved.
