The June meeting of the Inner Wheel Club of Droitwich Spa took place at the Raven Hotel.
President Patricia Phillips welcomed members and lit the candle of friendship, remembering members old and new the world over.
After supper, Patricia announced the lunch held on the hottest day of the year so far had been a resounding success both socially and financially, and more than £700 had been raised for St Richard's Hospice.
There followed the AGM, when secretary Pat Oliver presented her annual report of the activities of the club during the past year.
These included an evening of prize bingo with puddings, a ploughman's lunch and a gardeners' question time.
Overseas service organiser, Lesley Mackenzie, reported that knitted teddies were still pouring in and over 1,600 had now been received.
A plea was made for donations of wool to supply the volunteer knitters.
New officers for 2005/6 are - president June Bodger, secretary Margaret Tanner and overseas service organiser Shirley Jones.
All other officers will serve for one more year.
President-elect June invited members to join her on a visit to the County Record Office on July 21.
