BROODING clouds could not keep enthusiastic townsfolk from taking to the streets for Bromsgrove's carnival.
Thousands of people flocked to Bromsgrove's High Street and Sanders Park to watch a procession of floats and bands.
On Saturday the carnival made its way from the Council House, in Burcot Lane, through the High Street and finally to Sanders Park, off Kidderminster Road, where a fair and music show awaited visitors.
Rubery Youth Marching Band led the procession and was closely followed by The Silver Shadow Majorettes dance troop. Floats decorated in Little Britain, wartime and disco themes featured at the popular annual event.
Visitors to Sanders Park enjoyed a variety of stalls, raffles, games and a large funfair. Music lovers had the chance to take in some top talent at the Bromsgrove Big One before the evening's Broms Proms and fireworks display.
Events on Sunday featured a puppet show, a dog show in Sanders Park, and a brass band.
Organiser Jules Evans said: "It went fantastically well. The weather looked ominous, but held out for a great day. The procession was marvellous."
This year's event was the last Jules will organise, but she said she thought she went out with a bang and wanted to thank townsfolk for their support and encouraged people to come forward to keep the annual carnival going.
