THE 36th annual general meeting of the Birdseye Sports Evesham and District Sunday Football League was staged at Evesham WMC where three new teams were elected.

Blue Maze, Sporting Theocs and Tescos will take their place when the new season starts on Sunday, September 4. However, since the mee-ting, Hampton WMC have tendered their resignation from the league.

Secretary Martin Malin reported on a successful season on the pitch, the highlight being Bretforton Old Boys' success in lifting the WFA Sunday Minor Cup.

As a result of their successful season, the Old Boys became the inaugural winners of the Jack Honeybone Trophy for the Team of the Season.

Neil Harper (Norgren) was named Secretary of the Year, while the Club Linesman of the Year was Aubrey Honour of Moreton Town.

The secretary voiced concern at the level of fines incurred by member clubs for poor administration and the increasing abuse towards match officials from club officials and spectators.

A presentation was made to referees appo-intments secretary Brian Collett who has stood down after 12 years in the job. He has been replaced by Dave Selby.

John Cole, meanwhile, becomes vice-chairman, with all the other officers remaining the same.
