PERSHORE Tennis Centre, situated in the grounds of Pershore College, is set for some fantastic new facilities.
Two additional outdoor hard courts are on the way, to make a total of six, plus four outdoor mini- courts and three indoors court in a complex with lounge, bar, changing rooms, reception and pro-shop.
The expansion plan is a joint venture with the College, who are at the same time developing a tennis academy for students.
Funding has come from a number of sources, including Wychavon District Council, Sport England and the LTA. Planning permission has been successfully obtained with construction starting next month in August and an anticipated opening next February.
Mini-tennis is available for youngsters as young as four and, whether junior or adult, whether you have played before or are a beginner, the centre would love to welcome you along.
High-class group and individual coaching is available while the indoor courts will be made available for hire for an hourly fee to the general public, local businesses or other clubs.
The centre is holding an afternoon of celebration on Saturday from 2.30pm to mark the approval of the expansion plans. All are welcome for a chat and some fun.
If you are interested in joining or playing then why not give chairman Ian Johnson a ring on 01386 861952.
