WAYNE Panting continued his successful season with a brace of victories during the past week.
In last Thursday's penultimate Summer Evening League contest, Panting's weight of 64.8.0 topped the 13 recorded on the night.
Dirk Williams (54.4.0), Ant-ony Icke (41.12.0) and Clive Leeming (41.0.0) all recorded exceptional bags in the changeable conditions but not could better Panting's winning wei-ght. The final match is scheduled for tonight.
A dozen anglers were in action Oakham Farm Pools, Loxley on Sunday when Panting again prevailed but only by a narrow margin.
Leading the chasers was Steve Hilton (39.1.0) but he was unable to top the winner's weight but held off third-placed Bill Scarrott (21.3.0) and Roy Thomson (21.0.0).
The next match is on Sunday on the Abbey Lake at Lemington lakes near Moreton-in-Marsh.
Evesham WMC
MEMBERS visited the Jubilee Fishery last Sunday when Vic Woods topped the standings with small carp on pole and pellet for a winning bag of 24.8.0.
Close behind was Andy Hammerton (24.0.0) again with small carp on the pole with Mick Brooks in third with 14.4.0 helped by a late catch of small carp.
The next match is on the Avon at Cropthorne with the draw at 7am.
Evesham Jubilee Society
MEMBERS found sport tricky at Common Road during Sunday's Avon Shield Series match but Allan Gardner managed to bag enough skimmer bream to win comfortably.
Senior members are in action in the Jubilee Cup on Sunday, while their junior counterparts chase the Dobbins Cup on the River Arrow at Broom.
Competitors are asked to arrive at this popular venue at 7am for the draw at the river bridge at 7.15.
The previous day there's an open match at the Fishery when all are welcome for the draw at 9am. Book in on 01386 41273. Tuesday evening open matches continue every week with the draw poolside at 5.30pm.
