OUR May meeting was our president's meeting. In the absence of our chairman, Pat Radford, Essilt Thomas, our president, welcomed everybody, especially Ceri Williams who was celebrating his ninetieth birthday.
We all sang "Happy Birthday" and after the talk enjoyed a delicious supper with birthday cake.
The speaker was our treasurer, Tom Thomas, who took as his theme, "going out".
This involved a very amusing and thought-provoking exposition of his going out from a village (where he could walk into anyone's house, read the paper and walk out again!) to University at Aberystwyth, National Service in this country and in Germany and a career in teaching.
The raffle was won by Pat Edwards. On June 11 we are going to the Welsh Folk Museum at St Fagan's while our July Meeting will be our garden party at Cookhill Baptist Chapel on Saturday July 9 to which everyone is welcome.
