"IT'S such a nice change to be able to try on a dress that actually fits!" That is a comment I have heard on so many occasions.
I ensure at I have dresses ranging from size 8 to size 26 in my studio.
The Gown Gallery Bridal Studio first opened its doors in January 2001. Our family-run business offers a friendly and professional service. The intimate surroundings and informal atmosphere help to make each bridal party as relaxed as possible.
We get to know our clients very well and it is always lovely when brides come back to show off their photo albums, and in time, their new babies!
Happily in today's market, there are no strict rules for wedding attire and as stockists of menswear - to hire - we can supply contemporary and traditional outfits for all the bridal party, including bride, groom, bridesmaids and ushers.
Bridal gown colours include ivory, white, champagne, red, coffee, pink and pale blue to name but a few.
Colourwise, ivory gowns are still a favourite and ivory with a colour detail is also popular. Pink continues to be in high demand but other colours including pale gold, champagne, coffee and for 2008, pale blue, are selling in more quantity than the traditional white.
Satin still proves to be the most popular fabric choice but we are noticing a trend towards taffeta dresses and gowns with tulle skirts.
One-piece gowns are definitely a more popular choice than two piece outfits and the asymmetric cut is extremely flattering.
However, the new shapes coming in for 2008 include full skirts with corset style bodices, coat fronted gowns and gowns with ruched taffeta skirts.
For a simpler shape, empire-line and A-line still prove popular.
majority of gowns ordered, irrespective of size, are strapless (although most have a strap option) and where in the past brides wanted sleeves the modern bride opts for a bolero jacket or wrap.
We carry one of the largest bridesmaid collections in the country, with approximately 150 different styles available.
Unlike department stores, we can offer a choice of 82 satin/chiffon colours and 38 taffeta shades, and our prices are very competitive.
There is also a selection of matching adults/teen/flowergirl styles available. The top selling colour is still bordeaux red, with pinks, chocolate and shades of brown a close second. All shades of greens and blues are becoming favourites for 2007/8. Princess and A-line shapes are still the top sellers and the new tea-length dresses have taken off in a big way.
We can also supply accessories to compliment your purchases. There are more than 100 tiaras in store and veils available in 17 colours - with a bespoke order service if necessary.
Within one of our ranges, there is a choice to purchase men's neckwear/handkerchiefs to match your bridesmaid colours (as opposed to hiring a complimentary colour from the menswear range).
