A WORCESTER based company is calling on the business community to make a new year's resolution to be less wasteful. Envirowise is appealing to employees in Worcestershire to fly the flag for resource efficiency and share their positive habits with other companies throughout the region.
Christmas might be a time of great excess, but by making resource efficiency a business priority, companies could enjoy saving of up to £200 per employee going into 2007.
Envirowise is calling on environmentally- savvy employees to make their voice heard and submit their top efficiency tips for inclusion on its website -www.envirowise.gov.uk/overtoyou
John Barraclough, Envirowise regional manager for the West Midlands, said: "We know that there are dedicated individuals in companies right across our region that take the efficient use of resources seriously, but do not necessarily have a specific environmental role written into their contract - and these are the people who we want to come forward."
"Taking action on improving resource efficiency really is something anybody can do - and that's why we want to hear of any tips and hints individuals have to offer to other companies. Perhaps you have a cunning way of encouraging colleagues to stop printing needless paper, or a quick fix to reducing water use in the staff kitchen. Whatever it is, we want to hear it."
