IT was a dark snowy night in Worcestershire as John travelled with his family into Worcester to meet some friends at the Worcester Christmas Fayre.
As John drove closer to town, he could see thousands of twinkling lights in the distance.
"Look," screamed the children, "Look at the twinkling Christmas lights!" John could feel his blood pressure rise as he realised the pretty lights were actually cars queuing to get into the city centre. The children were finding it difficult to contain their excitement but John knew it was going to be a long time before they actually made it to town.
Then, as he turned the corner, he saw it shining in the distance, his Christmas saviour --a sign giving directions for Park and Ride!
John followed the signs to the Park and Ride site at Christopher Whitehead Language College. Before he knew it the car was parked and they were on the bus travelling into town.
As they made it to the meeting place with minutes to spare, John couldn't wait to show off to his friends about his blissful trip. Unfortunately for John, Sue and Dave had also taken advantage of Park and Ride. Sue had driven from the north to Perdiswell Park and Ride and Dave from the east to County Hall.
