Stuart Chester Kirsty Lancaster

STUART Chester married Kirsty Lancaster in a ceremony conducted by the Rev William Pridie at St Mary's Church, Fownhope.

Stuart is the youngest son of Antony and Patricia Chester, from Much Marcle, and Kirsty is the eldest daughter of Eric Lancaster and the late Susan Williams, of Belmont, Hereford.

Given away by her father, Kirsty wore a strapless ivory dress with sequin and pearl details, and carried a bouquet of ivory roses.

Her bridesmaids were Rachel Phipps (best friend), Abigail Lancaster and Sarah Williams (sisters) and Nikki and Rachel Welling (friends of bride and groom).

They wore champagne-coloured dresses and also carried ivory roses.

The best man was Stuart's brother Richard and a reception was held at the Three Counties Hotel before the couple left for their honeymoon in Tunisia.

Lewis Gopsill Colette Ward

Michael Smith Elizabeth Cawood

The former organist at Llandaff Cathedral, Dr Michael Smith, the son of the late Harold and Dora Smith, married Elizabeth Mary Cawood (known as Mary), daughter of Nora Wilcock, and the late Frank Wilcock at Parkfields Country House, Pontshill.

The bride wore a green silk dress with a matching embroidered coat and the best man was Adrian Smith (bridegroom's son).

A weekend house-party was attended by 50 guests and the Erica Lyons Jazz Trio entertained at an evening reception before the couple left for their honeymoon in Corsica.

Dr Smith retired as organist at Llandaff in 1999.
