ROCK band Lyck are gearing up for their first shows after a car accident nearly crashed their career for good.
Singer Colette Todd has now recovered after a collision in Kidderminster left her in hospital days before a show set for Chicago Rock Cafe, Stourbridge, in early May.
The two-month delay has given the band a chance to refine their sound and work on new material.
Lead vocalist Zennor McGuire said: "We are ready to rock again, Colette has recovered and is back on her feet. Lyck have written new music since the accident and Colette has just fallen into place again, with not many practices needed."
The Kidderminster-based band have a wealth of experience to call on. Zennor has been performing as a solo singer for five years while Colette toured the world singing in Riverdance and Lord of The Dance.
Guitarist Justin Bodley and bassman Simon Hughes have played in bands together since schooldays. Justin later toured the UK with Downward Thing while session musician Simon had a stint in Soul Train UK, playing the university circuit for three years.
And Brummie drummer Kaz, whose influences include Judas Priest and Van Halen, was sticksman for Trident, Scarab and Wyche.
Lyck will be on stage at Chicago Rock Cafe, Stourbridge, on Tuesday August 8 and The Olde Queen's Head, Halesowen, on Wednesday August 16.
