Tardebigge Court is home to a host of small businesses, all housed in attractive former farm buildings arranged in a neighbourly courtyard style. We take a closer look at some of the diverse traders...

Adrian Tarry Carpets

With 21 years' experience in the industry, Adrian Tarry is the ideal man to advise on choosing and fitting a new carpet or floor for any part of your home. This family-run business, established for over 20 years, offers a select at-home service for customers to choose their floor coverings in the comfort of their own homes - at a time to suit them. Most major brands are available from the firm, which is registered with the National Institute of Carpet and Floor-layers (NICF) and is one of the only such companies in the Midlands to hold this accreditation. Adrian employs his own fully qualified fitters to ensure customer satisfaction.

Armchair Theatre

If it's truly individual furniture you're after, look no further than this company whose stunning range of designer sofas and chairs has earned it a variety of esteemed clients. Owner Paul Casey has over 30 years' experience in the upholstery trade, including 20 years' service at well-known local firm James Design, and Armchair Theatre has supplied furniture to Harrods, Toni & Guy salons and even a James Bond film set. The handmade, made-to-measure furniture is available in countless designs, with a huge range of fabrics to choose from - many examples of unusual and classic pieces are on display at Armchair Theatre's stylish showroom. The company also offers a reupholstering service and a wide selection of loose covers.

Fatboys

The deceptively-named Fatboys is really a thriving furniture and fireplace business, established largely through word of mouth over the last 10 years. This family business, run by Stewart Meddings, can offer both original Victorian and reproduction furniture. Free-standing kitchens are made to order, and customers can choose from a large selection of reclaimed items, ideal for refitting a character property. Recently Stewart has extended his range of fireplaces and stoves, available from his collection of brochures or by viewing his website: www.fatboys.me.uk. His aim is to supply excellent products at a very reasonable price, and he offers a full fitting service carried out by experienced Corgi or Hetas registered fitters.

KT's Hair Studio

The newest business to open at Tardebigge Court is KT's Hair Studio, a gents' barber's offering the latest styles alongside classic cuts. Owner Kerry has worked as a barber for 20 years in Redditch and Bromsgrove, and her years of experience have given her a full knowledge of the area and its client base. She attends specialist courses to keep up to date with the latest cutting techniques, and caters for all ages in the stylish and modern salon. Kerry is offering late appointments as well as some slots on Mondays when KT's is usually closed, and will also carry out simple cuts for women on request.

Travellers' Way (Secret Destinations)

Just down the road from Tardebigge Court is Travellers' Way, an independent travel agent founded in 1987. The firm offers tailor-made holidays in mainland Spain, Portugal, Majorca, Madeira, Porto Santo, the Azores and the Canary Islands, as well as Florida - all suited to the independent traveller.

Travellers' Way will book the flights and accommodation, meaning that clients are spared a time-consuming trawl through brochures or the internet. Much of the accommodation is in quiet mountain villages or sophisticated coastal resorts rather than areas with mass tourism, allowing visitors to experience an authentic taste of that country.
