YOUNG soprano Katherine Hawnt's career has flourished since her days at Aylestone and Hereford Cathedral Schools.
She went on to read music at King's College, London, where she was a choral scholar, and later studied at Switzerland's acclaimed Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under Evelyn Tubb, Kathleen Dineen and Dominique Vellard in the performance of medieval, renaissance and baroque music.
It was here that she began performing with her own group, Le Basile, specialising in the music of the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries.
She now studies with Stefan Hasselhoff in Basel and performs throughout Europe.
Kate is performing a lute song recital in Shobdon Parish Church on Friday, August 11, at 11am.
