WELL known Midlands comedian, actor and writer Malcolm Stent is about to star in his own play which is set to become Birmingham's answer to Romeo and Juliet.
'A League Apart', which will be on at the Alexandra Theatre from September 5 to 9, is a football themed love story set in the Second City, charting the meeting of a pair of star crossed lovers - true Blue Billy and upmarket Sandra from Sutton Coldfield, whose family are Aston Villa fans.
The play will also feature Don Maclean and a fantastic supporting cast, plus superb music by Harvey Andrews.
It's a show that looks guaranteed to score! It's set in May 1963 when Birmingham played the Villa in the League Cup Final.
