VISITORS to Much Marcle Showground can take a trip down a memory lane at the Music Madness weekend on August 12 and 13.
The Fortunes and Marmalade will be playing live, as will tribute acts The Fake Beatles, The Everlys Experience and Derek and the Dynamoes.
Local musicians Chris Smith, Derek Rutherford and Gavin Simons make up Derek and The Dynamoes, a tribute to Eric Clapton's blues group Derek and the Dominoes. They rarely play locally, so this is a real treat for Clapton fans.
"We've all been round the block a few times," said Mr Smith. "Now we do Derek and The Dynamoes for fun. I'm really looking forward to the weekend."
Other local groups will also take to the stage, with a battle of the bands competition for younger musicians. The winners will have the chance to support either The Fortunes or Marmalade, while the others will get to play a set.
The Fifties and Sixties themed weekend is not just about rock 'n' roll. It will have cars from the era, dance displays, drama acts, trade stands, a fun-fair and more.
Organiser Martyn Hathaway said: "It's a bit of fun but with the bands and cars it will be really good."
Proceeds from the weekend will go to the County Air Ambulance and other local charities.
