TICKETS are selling well for this year's Three Choirs Festival which is being staged in Hereford from August 4-7 but there are still seats available for one of the mid-week highlights.
Tuesday evening's concert in the cathedral features Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri.
Three Choirs artistic director Geraint Bowen said he selected the piece because he thought it really deserved an outing, one hundred and fifty years after his death.
Not known for his choral music, Schumann was one of the most famous Romantic composers of the first half of the 19th century - as well as a famous music critic.
"It's a very rare opportunity to hear this marvellous piece," Geraint said, "which hasn't been performed in England for some time."
