WORKERS spend 150 hours a year at meetings, but much of the time they daydream about holidays, food or sex.

According to a survey of 4,000 employees, nine out of 10 attend at least one meeting a week, with one in four having to join 30 or more office meetings.

Staff often spend up to three hours a day in business discussions, but most admit they do not always concentrate on work.

The average worker concentrates for just 23 minutes before their mind starts wandering, rather than listening

Said Professor Carey Cooper of Lancaster University: "This research clearly shows that long, boring meetings are neither productive nor inspiring. More than 80 per cent of workers admit to being distracted during business discussions."
