WORCESTER households are set to benefit from a telecoms industry breakthrough from cable company Telewest.

Talk Anywhere is the first landline phone service of its kind allowing consumers to call anywhere in the country, abroad or to a mobile phone for one fixed price, regardless of the time or day.

The service offers a choice of packages where consumers can buy 200, 400 or 800 minutes per month.

The minutes can be used to telephone local, national, international, mobile and internet numbers and the fixed monthly fee also includes phone line rental.

Talk Anywhere also allows customers to roll over unused minutes to the following month and consumers can usually keep their existing phone number if moving from another service provider, such as BT.
