Carefully targeted, effective insurance is crucial for the health of all modern businesses. Cox Hepburn Insurance Services, based in the historic Vesta Tilley House, Lowesmoor, Worcester has been offering personal and proactive insurance advice to the commercial sector for more than 20 years,
And on July 1, Cox Hepburn started a new venture by teaming up with the Chamber of Commerce Herefordshire and Worcestershire to launch The Chamber Insurance Service.
Following a survey sent out by the Chamber to its members in 2004, which highlighted problems businesses faced regarding increased employers and public liability premiums, Cox Hepburn has stepped in to offer a helping hand and improve the flow of information from policyholders to insurers.
Results of the survey showed that a quarter of businesses in the two counties have no written Health & Safety policy, three quarters have appointed a person to be in charge of Health & Safety but only 60 per cent have provided any formal training, a third have not carried out any risk assessments for their company activities, and nearly half do not have regular safety audits.
In June 2003, the Office of Fair Trading carried out a review of the problems in the liability insurance market place. They concluded that there was no market failure but suggested that insurers need to communicate more effectively with policyholders.
The core elements to The Chamber Insurance Service are centred around an improved flow of information between policyholder, broker and insurer. This means that businesses can be rewarded for their good housekeeping practices.
All members of the Chamber of Commerce Herefordshire and Worcestershire who register their details on the website can now get a free, no-obligation insurance audit. Through the Chamber Insurance Service, Cox Hepburn will provide access to training days, discounted online health & safety guidance, an interest-free instalment facility and competitive rating structure. The Chamber Insurance Service also provides clients with a risk management fund.
Cox Hepburn's team is renowned for building long-lasting relationships with their clients and the resulting familiarity with their businesses allows them to assess the risks accurately and to offer unique insurance products and in-house underwriting.
