PUPILS from the Grove Junior School in Malvern took part in the Voices and Visions arts festival for the first time this week.
The event, at Malvern Theatres, showcases the performing talents of the county's schoolchildren.
The 32 Malvern pupils performed Checkmate, a piece based on a game of chess and created at the school's dance club. It was performed to Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Knights.
Teacher Gay Boswell, who choreographed it with colleague Becky Jones, said: "The children were really excited to be taking part and they performed really well."
Also taking part were Great Malvern Primary School, whose pupils performed a piece called Christmas Toys, danced to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.
