NOW celebrating its sixth year, Linton Music Festival has come a long way, growing into a three-day event, attracting top international artists and earning glowing reviews.
The organisers are determined not to rest on their laurels and this year's festival - which takes place this weekend (July 21-23) - is set to be the most dazzling yet.
Nine bands across the spectrum, from pop to rock and from soul to swing, will perform. Friday night sees the acclaimed show, Sweet Home Chicago, take to the stage. The 10-piece high energy, foot stomping show features over 45 of the finest soul, blues and rhythm 'n' blues classics immortalised in the legendary Blues Brothers movie.
Saturday night sees festival headliners Dr Feelgood centre stage and, on Sunday, The Cadillac Kings will serve up a contagious blend of the steamiest, swingiest boogie, jump jive and rock 'n' roll, to put a smile on your face and your feet on the floor.
If the music alone isn't enough to tempt you then a beer festival organised by the Alma Inn (CAMRA joint pub of the year, 2005) is run in parallel, featuring over 20 top quality local real ales and ciders.
The festival has raised in excess of £20,000 for local charities to date. For full details of supported charities, festival line-up and beers check the website at www.lintonfestival.org
