THE Wind That Shakes the Barley is showing at Malvern Theatres cinema from Friday to Thursday, July 14-20.
Directed by Ken Loach, the film is about Ireland in the 1920s. Workers from the Irish countryside unite to form volunteer armies to face the British "Black and Tans" and fight for independence.
Driven by a sense of duty and a love of his country Damian abandons his career as a doctor and joins his brother in the violent fight for freedom.
The film stars Cillian Murphy, Padraic Delaney and Liam Cunningham. Showings are daily at 7.30pm with Saturday, Sunday and Thursday matinees at 4.30pm.
