CLYRO artist Mari Roberts takes you on a journey along the English/Welsh border in Border Story, her current exhibition at Brecon's Theatr Brycheiniog.
Mari decided to focus on the imaginary line that runs up from Chepstow, past Abergavenny, along the Black Mountains, through Hay, Kington and then Knighton and continuing to join the sea in North Wales.
The photographs show the local aspects of this border, with images ranging from Chepstow to Newtown, and focusing upon the area from Hay-on-Wye and Brilley to Kington and Knighton.
"I have chosen an unusual subject to photograph in that the border as a tangible form is essentially lacking from my images," Mari said.
"I have instead attempted to create some imaginary boundaries within the works themselves, using strong lines and forms. My photographs also focus on specific details and delicate discoveries found along the route, rather than offering a straightforward perception of the landscape."
Border Story runs to July 22, entrance free.
