IT is the end for Viva Finito - at least as far as the name is concerned - with the band assuming a new identity from tonight.
The rock band, formed in Bewdley in 2005, plays at Kidderminster's Boar's Head Taphouse under its new name of Six Deep Holiday, as support to Superreal.
It is not the only change, as Six Deep Holiday has expanded from a quartet to a five-piece band, with the recruitment of guitarist, Ben Barker, of Malvern.
As Viva Finito, the group had been playing the gig circuit, writing and performing their own brand of rock 'n roll. They played at the Birmingham ITV Christmas party and supported bands such as Hayseed Dixie and B-movie heroes. Their talents were recognised when they were finalists and semi-finalists in battle of the bands competitions.
Drummer, James Booton, said of the name change and revamped line-up: "It's a bit of a fresh start," adding: "We got a bit tired of the name."
It is a busy period for Six Deep Holiday, who play at the Little Civic in Wolverhampton next Thursday and support the Hedrons at the Bar Academy, Birmingham on Monday, July 24.
