NOT content with shaking up the Worcester music scene with their energetic brand of 'pop n' roll', one city band is getting set to haul in talent from across the nation to play.

And What Will Be Left Of Them? formed in January 2004 and, since then, have released several EPs and singles, building up a solid following both in and out of the city.

Numerous tours have ensued and it was during their travels that the band - singer and guitarist Pete Adams (aka Blue Peter), vocalist Lucy 'Red' White, Matt Pooler on keyboards, drummer Chris Wemyss and Joe Beech on bass guitar - came up with the idea of a club night in Worcester.

Pete explained: "We've been travelling around the country for two years now and in that time we've seen loads and loads of great bands.

"Basically we figured it'd be great to get some of those bands on in Worcester as if we don't put them on here, no one else will."

The monthly Little Hellfire Club is now set to launch at the Marr's Bar in Worcester's Pierpoint Street on Thursday, June 29, for a trial period of three months.

The opening night will see London-based group The Rocks - who have supported The Libertines among other acts - play alongside the 'frenetic rock' act Untitled Music Project, who hail from Birmingham.

Also on the bill are local favourites The Cape Of Good Hope, from Bromsgrove, Kidderminster and Rubery.

Pete said: "We know it's going to be a success - with such an exciting line-up, how can it fail?"

Subsequent club nights will see several rising musical acts sharing the stage, with a slot reserved for a local band in order to help promote the scene.

In addition, And What Will Be Left Of Them? is also setting up a small record label in order to release records from bands from Worcestershire and beyond which they believe deserve to be heard.
