GARDEN CLUB: The February meeting was addressed by Julie Richie, the owner of the Hoo House Nursery of Tewkesbury. Her collection of easy alpines and low-growing perennials (amounting to 94) were displayed in slides.
MID-WORCESTERSHIRE CONSERVATIVE ASSOCIATION: It was reported at the annual meeting of Broadway, Childswickham and Wickhamford Conservative branch that the branch held two skittles evenings, a golf day and dinner, a summer lunch and a Christmas party. These events enabled the branch to give £1,500 to Conservative Central Association funds, £750 to the association election fund and £250 to the local Evergreen charity for the aged.
Mr Richard Mumford, representing the constituency executive, said that since David Cameron had been elected the party leader the constituency had gained 30 additional members which represented an overall increase of five per cent.
