YOUR report on the Cala Housing enquiry I read with interest and in the main agree with the points made.
What I did find frustrating were the comments made about the provision of help to the Upper Redesdale Hall. The management committee have some time been meeting manufacturers' representatives to purchase a suitable chair lift. As this is a listed building no easy task! Neither does it help that the environmental office is not supportive of the project and raised objections.
The fact that the meeting had to go another venue because of the lack of facility I find even more annoying. A phone call to planning department or myself days earlier then the March 7 date would have solved not just the problem but saved wasted time and money. It would have been courteous and shown common sense; two of today's missing qualities. The management committee are aware of this letter and contents.
