WORLD-famous composer John Rutter is to lead a choral workshop in Worcester on Saturday, March 11.
The event, which will take place at Worcester Cathedral, is in aid of the cathedral's Appeal for Music and Light.
The cathedral is running an ambitious £5 million campaign to replace both of its failing organs and ensure, through endowments, that the choral tradition is secure for generations to come.
Rutter, many of whose works are well known and loved by singers all over the country, will rehearse and sing through several of his compositions and arrangements.
John Soper of Worcester Cathedral Arts, said: "It will be a great privilege to have John Rutter in Worcester. He is an inspiring and charismatic musician.
"By helping to raise funds for the musical life of the cathedral we are ensuring that unique events of this kind can be held in a setting worthy of the music.
"Bookings are going well but there are still vacancies for all voices. Anyone who sings, in a choral society, church choir or just for fun, will really enjoy the day."
For an application form call the cathedral on 01905 28854 or John Soper on 01386 750500 or pick one up at the cathedral.
