AN exhibition of calligraphy which aims to make people smile will open at Bewdley Library on Saturday.
Wyre Forest-based group, Severn Scribes, will host the display, which will feature work members have created using different writing and painting techniques.
Most of the displays will be based on the theme "Smile" and writers have incorporated humorous sayings and light-hearted messages.
The group, which meets at Wribbenhall Community Centre in Shaw Hedge Road, Bewdley on a Saturday and Thursday once a month during the winter, has 28 members, most of whom are from the Wyre Forest area.
It was founded 12 years ago and writers also hold tutor workshops for different writing hands and other crafts that use calligraphy.
Chairman, Pat Lancaster, said the exhibition would interest people of all ages, adding: "We thought we all need cheering up in this world."
Anyone interested in joining the group can contact membership secretary, Pam Thew, on 01562 752570. For library opening times, contact 01299 403303.
