UP and coming musical talent from across the Midlands will be showcased by a Kidderminster record label on Sunday.
The Sonic Boom event has been organised by Mighty Atom Smasher (MAS) Records and will take place at the Rock Caf 2000 in Stourbridge from 4pm until late.
It will feature live sets from 20 new bands and artists and among the Wyre Forest groups performing will be rock bands, Base Detail and Orphan.
Base Detail is described as "one of the few new bands around capable of making new and different rock music".
Vocalist, Liam Trubshaw, said: "MAS Sonic Boom has to be the hottest date in any young rock band's calendar. In contrast to the pre-packaged pop that surrounds us all, Base Detail is making the music we want to hear and can't find anywhere."
Orphan are said to blend together "hard rock, stoner, sludge and experimental rock" and bassist, Tom Whittaker, said: "We want the audience to feel as if they are in front of a herd of stampeding elephants when we perform at Sonic Boom."
The event will be filmed and recorded by MAS Records, based at Kidderminster College, and other groups performing include 7sevan, Angel Claw, The Arrival, The Backs, From Method to Madness, Just For The Fame and Sons of Beaches.
DJ Ufonic will be spinning new sounds and styles throughout the night as MC for the event.
MAS Records creative director, Kevyn Gammond, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for these new bands and it gives them a great chance to develop and move forward in the industry. The Rock Caf venue has become a vital creative ally for our acts to perform and is now an important rock venue in the Midlands."
He added: "We now have our foundation in the Midlands, with other MAS Records satellites in Stoke, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Walsall and we are going from strength to strength here in Kidderminster."
Project manager, Kim Tanser, said: "To predict future paths of these underground heroes at this point seems a little early, but by the release of MAS RECORDS 4, these bands will be delivering the glory of high-grade rock."
MAS Records was formed in 2001, by Kevyn and Kim, and the label's patron is Led Zeppelin frontman, Robert Plant.
