OFFERING a thought-provoking insight into three generations of a Jewish middle-class family, Mike Leigh's Two Thousand Years arrives at the Malvern Theatres next week.

Leigh's first play in over a decade, only seven performances will be shown at the Festival Theatre, starting on Tuesday.

Set against a year's worth of political and historical events, the play explores in a gentle, tragi-comic way, a wide range of issues including politics, religion and the question of Israel and the Middle East.

It will feature an all-star cast that appeared and developed the play at the National Theatre, including Alan Corduner, who appeared in the film Vera Drake.

Tickets are priced £16-24 and £10 for under 25s.
