BAFTA nominated know-it-all Mark Steel brings his original blend of history and comedy to Bromsgrove's Artrix centre on Friday, March 10.
Steel brings his national Vive La Revolution show to Bromsgrove following on from the success of the book with the same name.
Despite 20 years as a comedian Steel has rose to fame for his BAFTA nominated show The Mark Steel Lectures, where the comedian blended the lives of famous figures such as Sir Isaac Newton and with an offbeat comedy.
He was once one of angry left wing comedians that spoke out against Margaret Thatcher's Conservative Government. Now middle-aged he has become a respected scholar in his own right.
He presents fascinating insights into intriguing historical figures, all the while drawing relevant parallels with modern times. What often may seem like an uninspiring topic is always brought brilliantly to life.
Now he will discuss the gory French Revolution in the 18th Century, raising a laugh as he talks about infamous characters like Robespierre and the Bastille.
As well as an accomplished comedian, Steel is a celebrated columnist for The Independent, written numerous books and appeared as a panelist on Have I Got News For You, QI and Mock the Week.
Tickets for Mark Steel costs £12 and the show starts at 8pm. Call the Artrix's box office on 01527 577330.
