A HUNDRED-strong choir will only have one chance to hit the high notes before a concert in Worcester.
Residents who have always wanted to sing on stage but never had the chance, can join the Silurian Consort Choir, based in Tewkesbury, when they perform at St Martin's Church, London Road, tomorrow, in aid of Save the Children.
As an extra challenge the singers will only have one rehearsal to perfect their version of Hayden's Nelson Mass before the doors open to the public.
Jan Grotsfeld, a singer with the choir and Save the Children volunteer, said: "At 2pm we register the singers.
"At 2.30pm we rehearse and then at 7pm the concert begins.
"If people are unsure as to whether they can sight read they need not worry, once you have good singers on either side of you, everybody sounds really great.
"The choir do this for nothing - we just want people to come along and have a good time."
Last year, singers from London and Cheltenham, as well as Worcester, joined the Silurian Consort and they managed to raise about £1,000.
John Wilderspin, a teacher at the Royal Grammar School, Worcester, will conduct this year's concert.
Tickets priced £6 and £5 for students are available from the St Martin's Church.
