PREPARE for a comic extravaganza with the new production of The Mikado by Astwood Bank Operatic Society.

The group will stage the Gilbert & Sullivan masterpiece at the Kingsley Theatre from Tuesday, March 7, until Saturday, March 11.

Due to the temporary closure of the Palace Theatre, the society has chosen Kingsley as its alternative venue and rehearsals are well under way.

And with only 200 tickets per night available, patrons should book early.

With a production team including Joy Vater as producer and musical director Norma Kift, The Mikado promises to be an evening of fun and frolics and musical mayhem.

The cast will include Mark Williams as Ko-Ko, David Steele as Nanki-Poo, Janna Mutton as Yum-Yum and Bob Bromley as The Mikado.

Performances start at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £9 (concessions £8.50) are available on 893816.
