Does it worry anybody else out there when things come round so quickly? I'm sure it does. I mean, how often have you heard someone say, "it doesn't seem possible that it's Christmas again (or Easter, or little Billy's birthday, or whatever it is)."
I bet you've said it yourself. I know I have - in fact I've said little else all week.
I've spent a lot of time this week working on the Worcester Festival, booking stages, acts, fireworks, workshops, seeing who might be a sponsor, who might be a patron, and so forth.
"The festival!" you cry. "Surely not - we've only just had one." Well that's what it seems like to me, but apparently I have to organise another one this August!
Yesterday, I had a long chat with a chap called Paul Holman in London.
"About the festival?" I hear you ask. No. About next year's pantomime! I rent my costumes from him. I've just had to book the costumes and the set, and the actors, and the musicians, and the dancers and, well, just about everything.
"The pantomime," you cry. "Surely not - we've only just had one."
Well that's what it seems like to me, but apparently I have to organise another one this December.
Somebody rang yesterday to book the Swan Theatre. I observed that I had very few dates in 2006.
"It's for November 2008," they said.
Listen, never mind organising anything for 2008 yet, I shall be happy to be still alive by then!
