Clinique and Boots are celebrating the launch of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October by offering a limited-edition must-have for your makeup bag. A special Shimmering Tones Palette (RRP £21.50) is available throughout the month, containing nine shaded squares in varying shades of pink to enhance and highlight your cheekbones. For each palette sold, £2 will be donated by Clinique to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and £2 donated by Boots to Breast Cancer Care.

HOW SAFE IS YOUR DEODORANT?

Scientists at Reading University have discovered a possible link between the use of antiperspirants and rising rates of breast cancer. Many deodorants contain chemicals, which have now been found to enter the cells and cause mutations in DNA that could lead to cancerous growth.

Forever Living Products have come up with a safe alternative to chemical-based products - the Aloe Ever-Shield Deodorant Stick. Containing aloe vera gel, the gentle formula provides effective, all day protection and can be applied directly after shaving or waxing without stinging. Most consultants tell their patients not to use chemical-based antiperspirants during chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but many are happy to recommend this product.
