A FLEET services company has found itself in the driving seat after securing a major deal with Worcestershire County Council.
Ringway will deal with the local authority's vehicle management and maintenance services, including its lorries, vans, and mobile libraries and has upgraded its facilities in Warndon especially for the work.
After a vigorous and lengthy tender assessment process, involving four other companies earlier this year, Ringway came out on top in both the price and quality assessments.
The contract runs for an initial four-and-a-half years with the option to extend it for a further four years.
Ringway Fleet Services has been working in partnership with Worcestershire County Council over the last month to manage the smooth transfer of staff and operations handover from the previous contractor, RCS.
Gary Condon, Ringway's fleet services manager, said: "We are committed to providing Worcestershire County Council with a first class service and as part of this we will be investing in new equipment and upgrading the facilities in the workshop and offices, including a welcoming new reception area."
With their workshop at Warndon in Worcester, Ringway Fleet Services will be offering their vehicle management and maintenance services to other businesses in the area.
This includes specialised van and truck repairs, for example disabled and welfare vehicles, winter maintenance and special application vehicles, as well as pay-as-you-go 24-hour roadside assistance.
