You will find all the big name fashion designers for both men and women at Red clothing boutique.

Diesel, D&G, Trend Corlellioni, Blue Cult, Dsquared, True Religion, Neil Barrett, See by Chloe and, from next winter, Armani, are among the big names on offer at the store, which is situated on Exchange Street in Kidderminster.

The shop opened two-and-a-half years ago - and has already developed a nationwide reputation for its high quality designer brands. The readers of ladies fashion magazine, Elle, recently voted it among the top 50 clothing retailers in the country.

Owner Stephen Mitchell is experienced in the fashion industry - he also owns Hair Lounge hairdressing salon, which is above Red with salon manager, Alison Carr, and stylists, Simon, Gemma and Lisa. Stephen thoroughly researches his markets in Milan, Paris and London. He is bringing sought after designer names from their catwalks to Worcestershire.

Indeed, the hairdressing and clothing businesses compliment each other.

"You can have a complete look in one building. A new haircut upstairs, maybe a beauty treatment to follow and then come downstairs to select a new outfit to match your mood," says Stephen, who has always wanted to bring high fashion to Kidderminster.

"It is an up and coming town. The new developments in the town have added vibrancy and there are lots of affluent areas nearby."

The key to Red's success has been to stock exclusive designer names at the high end of the fashion market. Red caters for "today's celebrity and brand obsessed customers who want designer labels." Stephen adds: "We are at the top end of the market in terms of design - though not necessarily in terms of price."

The range of clothing is impressive from casual wear ("but definitely no sweatshirts or shell suits", he jokes), through to formal attire. A suit at Red will cost between £399 to £800.

Indeed the Red boutique in Kidderminster has gone so well, Stephen has opened another store in Reindeer Court in Worcester.

New looks for spring and summer include what Stephen describes as "cleaner looks" including cowboy themes for men inspired by the successful film, Brokeback Mountain, and for women, English equestrian themes - lots of tweed and velvet.
