Jaguar has recently launched the new XK model, described as a new era in the firm's sports car lineage and available as either a coup or convertible. Whilst the car acknowledges the marque's rich history with classic styling inspired by legendary Jaguars of the past, it is also said to be the most technically advanced Jaguar ever built.
Features include keyless start, touch screen satellite navigation, bluetooth telephone connectivity and rain-sensing wipers, as well as the 300bhp 4.2-litre AJ-V8 engine which allows the XK to achieve 0-60mph in just six seconds. On sale from March 16, the car has already been declared 'Most Exciting Car to be Launched in 2006' by readers of What Car? magazine, and has also won a European award for its safety features.
The XK starts at £58,995 for the coup and £64,995 for the convertible, and Jaguar's website allows customers to design a car to their own specifications, choosing paint colours, interiors, alloy wheels and factory-fitted options. See www.jaguar.co.uk for details and dealers.
