Taking inspiration from the Women's Institute, Bromsgrove's Primrose Hospice has put together a fundraising calendar based on the same principle of stripping off for charity.

The 'Peeling off for Primrose' 2006 calendar features good sports from local groups and companies such as Hereford & Worcester Ambulance Service, Bromsgrove Rovers FC and Wyvern FM, wearing somewhat less than usual! The calendar was launched with a special lunch at the Hilton Bromsgrove, at which Tricia Stewart, one of the original 'Calendar Girls', was the guest speaker. The money raised from sales of the calendar will help Primrose Hospice to offer care and support to local cancer patients and their families.

The calendar is available to buy for a suggested donation of £3.50 from any of the Primrose Shops (Bromsgrove, Redditch, Rubery or Studley) or from the Day Hospice in St Godwald's Road, Aston Fields, or by calling 01527 875444. Or you can post a cheque, made payable to 'Primrose Hospice Ltd' to the Fundraising Department, Primrose Hospice, St Godwald's Road, Bromsgrove B60 3BW. Don't forget to include your name and address and 70p to cover postage and packing.

Centenary calendar

Kidderminster Camera Club has also developed a calendar for 2006, in celebration of the group's 100th anniversary. Each month features an artistic photograph taken by a club member, plus pictures of various locations around Kidderminster. Archive photographs from each decade of the club's history are also featured, making the calendar a timeline of Kidderminster life.

The calendar costs £7.50 and is available from Wolverley and Cookley Post Offices, the Kidderminster Shuttle offices, or by calling Roland Winzer on 01562 822969.
