Children from Kidderminster's Holy Trinity School enjoyed exploring the world of hedgerows thanks to a 'museum on the move' tour bus.

The interactive, multi-sensory exhibition, sponsored by the county council and Hartlebury Museum, celebrates the hidden world of hedgerows.

Aware

"The exhibition encourages children to be aware of their surroundings and to discover how the local environment has been shaped and moulded by people over thousands of years," said teacher Hilda Webb.

In groups, the children enjoyed the hands-on session learning about different foods, medicines and the many dyes provided by numerous hedgerow plants.

Stories about the woodland bodger, hedgelayer, poacher and the clog maker had the children enthralled.

Mrs Webb said: "The bus appears small, but when on board it's a total surprise as there is much to see and do. Many interesting articles were available for them to examine and try out. The poacher's outfit was a particular favourite."
