EXPERTISE and attention to detail are key to the increasingly successful restoration and repair business started more than seven years ago by Cheryl and Colin Spencer-Brown.
Retained by major insurers to carry out loss adjustment and repairs and restoration following flood, fire or other significant damage, Rainbow International have gathered together a group of highly skilled craftspeople to ensure that expert help is on hand to tackle every aspect of their demanding business.
As the business has expanded, the skills and experience of those experts, among them a well-known local art restorer, have become available to private customers, who prize the level of service they receive as highly as the insurance companies.
A key member of the team is Richard Jones, an upholsterer with more than a decade's experience.
"Richard will upholster anything, from a three-piece suite to the recently completed Masonic pews that had been burned almost beyond recognition, with amazing results" says Cheryl.
Anyone who appreciates the value of a beautifully crafted piece of furniture will appreciate the skill Richard brings to his work, restoring precious items whose outward appearance no longer does their bone structure justice.
Re-upholstering a precious and irreplaceable piece is the perfect way to bring it back to life and, with the option of selecting your own fabric or browsing through Rainbow International's sample books, you can create a dramatic new look or stay faithful to the original.
RESTORER OF THE YEAR
The quality of the work carried out by Rainbow International was recognised last year by the insurance industry, when they received the 2003/2004 Restorer of the Year award, the company that had saved insurers the most money by repairing and restoring rather than writing-off.
But, whether working on behalf of insurers or private customers, saving money is not the sole consideration.
"Items which have been damaged often have a value beyond the financial," says Cheryl. "We can restore irreplaceable items with sentimental value, so that their owners still have the original items, and we can often do so at considerably less than the replacement cost."
Having outgrown the company's first home, Rainbow International moved three years ago to its present base on the Westfields Trading Estate, where eight full-time staff are employed.
The quality of the work at Rainbow International is matched by the quality of the customer care - from re-upholstery and deep-cleaning of your carpets to the restoration of valued antiques and paintings, the highest standards are always met.
