THE sounds of two of the music world's biggest acts will be relived as a trio of tribute acts take to the stage to perform their songs.

Irish rock band U2 and legendary prog-rockers Pink Floyd are both big-name bands in their own right.

Between them, they are responsible for a string of hits including One, Another Brick In The Wall, Desire and Comfortably Numb and have inspired a wealth of acts.

Now fans will be able to lap up their music again with several tribute concerts. U2UK will be taking to the stage at Worcester's Swan Theatre on Thursday, February 2.

The band formed in January 2002 and played their first gig in March of that year, on the same date frontman Paul Collyer - aka 'Bono' - appeared on the show Stars In Their Eyes. Tickets are £12.50, available from the box office on 01905 611427

Also appearing in Worcester - at the city's Marr's Bar in Pierpoint Street - is U2 tribute act You2 on Saturday, February 4.

The band have built up a strong following since they formed and guitarist Darren Keen is so eager to replicate the sound of U2's very own Edge he has invested £30,000 in similar kit. Dave Sharp, ex-vocalist and guitarist with 80s rockers The Alarm is on support. Tickets are £6 in advance or £8 on the door.

Finally, Off The Wall is hoping to carry the torch for Pink Floyd fans everywhere with their performance at Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday, February 3.
