THE new season at Kidderminster's Rose Theatre will kick off on Monday, promising plenty of comedy, drama and music.
Resident theatre company, The Nonentities, will present Billy Liar, by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, which charts Billy's ups and downs as he lives a fantasy lifestyle, on January 30.
It will be followed by Frozen, by Bryony Lavery, between Monday, February 20 and Monday, February 25 and And A Nightingale Sang, by C P Taylor, from Monday, April 3 until Saturday, April 8.
When We Are Married, by J B Priestley, will be performed between Monday, May 8 and Saturday, May 13 and Blithe Spirit, by Noel Coward, from Monday, June 5 until Saturday, June 10.
The theatre will also play host to amateur companies, including The Once Removed Theatre Company from Cookley, who will be entertaining audiences with Play On by Rick Abbot from Thursday, February 9 until Saturday, February 11.
The Kidderminster Operatic Society will present My Fair Lady between Tuesday, March 2 and Sunday, March 11.
Food Glorious Food will be performed by the Swan Playwrights on Friday, May 19 and a one-man show by Les Barker, called "Speaking Volumes", will be staged on Friday, February 17. Musical entertainment will come from Troika Productions' concert, The Spirit of Piaf, on Friday, March 17 and five-piece band, Blues at 10, on Saturday, June 17.
To finish the season, there will be an end-of-year performance from students in Kidderminster College's performing arts department on Thursday, July 6 and Friday, July 7.
