THE musical Jekyll and Hyde tells a gripping story and Ross-on-Wye's X-entricity Theatre is bringing it to the stage from tonight (Thursday) until Saturday and then again from January 19-21.
Following the sad death of his father, the well-respected scientist Dr Henry Jekyll sets about finding a cure for mental illness. He eventually finds a formula that he believes holds the answer, but needs a living person to test his potion on...
The consequences are catastrophic as he throws himself headlong into a world where good and evil battle for supremacy within.
It is also a story of love and friendship, lust and desire.
X-entricity, with its cast of 28 and supporting musicians, will present this musical in its unique style. The set has been designed and built by Chris Hewson and Rob Hill and the music by Frank Wildhorn is powerful, driving, uplifting and haunting.
Earlier shows - Godspell, West Side Story, Return to the Forbidden Planet and Les Miserables - have all met with good success.
Jekyll and Hyde is at the Larruperz Centre, Ross, at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the centre or on 01989 565465 (family tickets available).
