SCHOOL CELEBRATES: Harvington School had two major events at the end of term. The first was the Christmas show - Stars Come Out for Christmas, performed three times in all to a considerable number of delighted parents and friends. It involved every child in the school (even including the nursery) with speaking parts for a number of children and chorus parts for everyone else.
The second event was the Christmas lunch made and delivered by the Vineyard restaurant at Salford Priors, provided for all the children and a number of invited guests.
CAROL SERVICE: This sense of tradition was the theme followed at the carol service at St James' Church, with representatives from many village organisations reading the traditional nine lessons and a large congregation joining enthusiastically in the singing of the carols.
CONCERT BOOST: The Village Hall Appeal fund was given another boost when a capacity audience heard the folk singer John Kirkpatrick give his one-man show. A talented performer, especially on his squeeze-boxes, John is one of the most popular of the artistes engaged by Worcestershire in their scheme to bring good musical entertainment to the rural areas of the county.
VILLAGE HALL: Following a successful appearance in October's village talent show, Richard James Griffin will be returning to the village hall for a concert on Saturday, January 14. He will be performing favourite songs from the 1950s, 60s and 70s through to today. Tickets are available from the village Spar shop, priced £4 for adults and £3 concessions. Doors open at 7pm.
