COTSWOLD Charolais enthusiast Rachael Wyllie has collected the prestigious Eprinex Pour-On Charolais of the Year award with Brailes Vienna, a homebred heifer from her 15 cow herd based at Lower Brailes, Shipston.
The yearling Vienna amassed a plethora of leading awards on the 2005 show circuit including junior breed and junior interbreed champion at the Newark and Notts, junior breed champion at the Royal Highland, the Royal Bath and West and the Three Counties. She was placed second in her class at the Royal, the Royal Welsh and the Great Yorkshire.
Vienna was also a member of the champion interbreed teams at the Royal Bath and West and Great Yorkshire.
"Vienna is one of the most successful heifers I have show in 15 years of breeding Charolais," Mrs Wyllie said. "She is by the noted Seawell Offshore and out of the homebred Brailes Nutcracker who also enjoyed a successful show career which included taking the junior breed title at the Royal Welsh."
She added: "Showing cattle is hard work and it takes up a lot of my time, however it is extremely rewarding and the show ring is a great show window for both the herd and the Charolais breed."
