THE Tardebigge pub will host a charity gig to help schoolchildren in Sierra Leone this weekend featuring a selection of local musicians to impress the crowds.
The concert will be headlined by former Dodgy frontman Nigel Clark, who returns to Redditch after a mini tour to promote his new single.
He will be supported by Sunset Cinema Club and an acoustic set by James Rea, from local band Montana.
Entry is free but a collection bucket will be set up to raise cash for the Waterloo Schools Charity in Sierra Leone.
It has been set up to raise funds to build new schools in Sierra Leone, which currently lack classroom space and facilities, forcing teachers to try to help more than 800 pupils in a capacity of approximately 70.
The charity aims to build new teaching blocks, improve facilities for the staff and pupils and provide text, exercise and library books which were burnt or destroyed during the nation's civil war in the 1990s.
More information on the gig is available on 07967 099020. Details on the charity are available from Mr and Mrs Read on 01386 793222 or the Waterloo Schools Charity on 01793 481582.
